Berkeley might soon join San Francisco as having the highest minimum wage in the U.S.
The City Council on Tuesday is slated to take the first step toward hiking the minimum wage from $8 an hour to $10.55 an hour, in an effort to help low-end workers in one of the Bay Area’s more expensive cities.
