The wage gap between minimum wage earners and the general population is wider in the District than in any of the 50 states.

Bloomberg data shows D.C.’s minimum wage of $8.25 per hour is the third-highest minimum wage in the nation but is just 22.24 percent of D.C.’s hourly per capita personal income of $37.09.
